Tasting rice in all its varieties, is what the City of Moncofa presents through the Department of tourism. From August 31 to September 10 a dozen restaurants will be the protagonists in these thematic days dedicated to rice and paella in which different ways and presentations of rice cooking in this area will be shown, with a great tradition in the cultivation of rice from distant times. The local restaurateurs will offer in their menus different tastings from the traditional paella to more sophisticated rice dishes like the honeyed rice of galleys and broccoli or the wild rice of rabbit Iberian prey and snails.
From the council of tourism is aimed to promote rice along with orange as differentiating elements in the gastronomy within the tourist promotion of the locality, in which the hotel sector of the town occupies the leading role in this gastronomic event.
