The Moncofa City Council in collaboration with “Comerços de Moncofa” launches the Christmas Fair that will open this Saturday at 11 am. in the municipal market. Thanks to this initiative, shopping in local shops will be encouraged, as well as the consumption of products from local suppliers during this long weekend.
Thus, tomorrow, December 5, the “Fira Nadalenca” will be inaugurated, which will be held from tomorrow morning until Tuesday, December 8. This activity has been organized by Comerços Moncofa with the collaboration of the City Council. With this initiative, the Moncofa Government team intends to promote local commerce, but always in a safe environment. In addition, it is also a way to promote the consumption of local products in local stores, since there are six businesses that participate in this initiative.

The mayor of Moncofa, Wences Alós Valls, has assured that “in situations of health and economic crisis like the current one, one of the best social measures that we can apply is the one that helps to boost the economy and employment among our neighbors. That is why, with a view to Christmas, we have promoted so many initiatives to improve opportunities and the quality of life in Moncofa ”.
In fact, this same week, the Moncofa City Council has also launched the campaign ‘Per Nadal, buy at Teu Poble’ to encourage shopping in small commercial establishments in the municipality. There are five draws, with three prizes each, which will begin next week and will be held until the eve of Kings.
As the Councilor for Commerce Lolá Alós explained at the time of her presentation, “the objective is to promote purchases and consumption in local businesses. It is something that we have already been doing with the help of the town’s merchants, and this year we wanted to strengthen to help especially, a year in which the crisis caused by the coronavirus is greatly damaging small businesses ”.

Five Christmas Lot Raffles
Thus, there will be a draw for five different days, distributing three prizes each day. The first draw will be held on Friday next week and local businesses are already distributing tickets to everyone who makes purchases from them. These tickets must be stapled to the purchase receipt and deposited in the urn that is installed in the municipal market.
The raffles will take place on December 11, 18, 24 and 31 and January 5. Each of them will be televised on TV4 La Vall at 12 noon and the names of the winners will be announced on the Moncofa City Council’s social networks. Each of these days a ham, a Christmas lot with two bottles of wine and a Christmas basket will be raffled.
