Moncofa, 5 August 2020.- Moncofa City Council presents a virtual program of activities to commemorate its Sant Roc Festival on the beach. From the 10th of August until the day of Sant Roc on the 16th, the council has scheduled a series of activities adapting its celebration to the conditions of maximum prevention for the Covid-19. Thus, the Local Trade Fair will take place from 14 to 16 August, or the celebration of the Mass of Sant Roc on the 16th at 8 pm in the hermitage live on TV 4 – La Vall.

The councilor for Festivities, Mª Teresa Alemany, explained that “given the current circumstances, we cannot hold mass events or endanger anyone’s health, events that we will be holding again next year. Security comes first, which is why we present a program with cultural activities adapted to the new circumstances, and with the television broadcast of the crowded events of other years, such as bullfighting events, Manos Unidas dinner, summer symphony concert , Performance of the association “Entre flores y volantes”, the fashion show, or the Book Fair “.

It should be noted that the City Council recalls the obligation to wear a mask at all events that will be held this year, as well as maintaining a safe distance and frequent hand hygiene.

Local Trade Fair
The City Council of Moncofa promotes the Local Trade Summer Fair which will take place from 14 to 16 August on the beach of El Grau, in the Plaza Ruiz Picasso from 19.00 to 0.00 hours.

Painting exhibitions
Both the María Sorolla room and the Plenamar room will maintain activity with separate exhibitions in the same tourist building. Thus, in the María Sorolla room, the exhibition by Álex Alemany will be held from 7 pm to 9 pm, at the same time as the exhibition by Bienve García will take place in the Sala Pleamar, at the same time.

According to the mayor of the town, Wences Alós Valls, “Sant Roc 2020 will be a different year but the beaches of Moncofa this summer will continue to offer great attractions for everything, with the appropriate security measures.”
