The Moncofa City Council has already turned on the Christmas lights in the urban area of the municipality with the aim of strengthening local businesses now that the shopping campaign for the Christmas holidays is underway. This year the lighting for Christmas in the center has been extended to Jacinto Benavente, Avd del Port, Estanyol streets and a second Christmas tree has been placed in the center of the Grao beach.
The mayor, Wences Alós Valls, has assured that “this bridge is going to make the municipality very dynamic and we want to help give a joyful and festive image throughout the town to encourage residents and visitors to do their shopping in shops of Moncofa ”.
On the other hand, Ana Gracia Vilalta, councilor in charge of lighting, highlighted that “a Christmas tree has been placed, adorned and illuminated in the center of Grao de Moncofa and more streets than ever, so that the entire municipality can show off a festive image looking forward to the weeks ahead ”.
The goal of the municipal government team is to help boost local economic activity and help businesses to generate employment for the Christmas campaign, especially a year especially complicated by the coronavirus crisis. In fact, the Moncofa City Council has launched several initiatives to help alleviate the crisis caused by the pandemic.
In fact, this week it has also launched the campaign ‘Per Nadal, buy al teu Poble’ to encourage purchases in small commercial establishments in the municipality. There are five draws, with three prizes each, which will begin next week and will be held until the eve of Kings.
As the Councilor for Commerce, Lola Alós, explained in her presentation, “the objective is to promote purchases and consumption in local businesses. It is something that we have already been doing with the help of the town’s merchants, but that this year we have wanted to promote to help especially this year, in which the crisis caused by the coronavirus is greatly damaging small businesses ”.
